Repurposed cabinets with a new booth island

Its been too long since the last post, in that time two kitchens have been updated, a shed garage has been built and an enclosure for a town’s essential water service backup generator.

This cottage on Granite Lake, near Clearwater Bay, Ontario was given pine kitchen cabinets from another cottage on the lake. I really enjoy seeing a customer repurpose older materials that would otherwise end up in landfill. These cabinets were fairly young, maybe twenty years, in good condition, well made with quality hinges and hardware. My customer was up to the challenge of adapting the cabinets to her kitchen and existing cabinetry. Short Supply was also asked to build a booth type island that would accommodate a few of those cabinets, new countertops and seat up to 10 to 12 people.
