This wood frame and metal clad structure was built to protect a diesel generator from the accumulation of snow that had the potential to shut down the generator in past winters jeopardizing a town’s water supply.
When measuring for the plans it was important to allow for the rather large service doors of the diesel generator to fully open on each side of its steel shell. Large vents allowing the free flow of the diesel’s exhaust were built under the protection of the gables on each end of the structure and positioned to avoid the high north/south winds of the area.
Green metal cladding ensures long, low maintenance service, and matches its big brother water plant.
