High water damage creates work for many hands

The spring and summer of 2022 showed the that good old Mother Nature was a force to be reckoned with. One of the first calls we got when we put Short Supply out there was from a retired couple on the Winnipeg River, whose decks and docks had all been plundered by the high water levels.

While we did have to deconstruct one of the docks that was beyond repair, the main one was fixable and we also improved the decking and built a much-needed privacy wall. This client, also named Mike, was competent and just need some “wrench” strength and an extra set of hands to get things done. High water and high winds can be a deadly combination. We removed a number of trees that were ready to fall over or had already done so. Michael became the “go to” guy, Mike could call for camp maintenance jobs as they came up. It’s good to know help is just a phone call away!

I really came to depend on Mike to help me get a few things done that didn’t feel safe to do without some help. He was dependable, competent, and didn’t hesitate to share his ideas – and opinions. I didn’t always agree, ha ha, but appreciated that he would speak up.
